You can pay your wages or savings into your account at branches nationwide safe in the knowledge that your money is being held with major respected UK based financial institutions (Natwest and Newcastle Building Society). You’ll have access to your money over the phone, online and at ATMs worldwide with the added convenience of having a Prepaid MasterCard® Card. You can also use this to spend in shops and restaurants.

Easy access to your funds

Once you have opened your account, you’ll have easy access to your money via the RED88 online banking area or over the telephone. Our trained Chinese speaking account managers will assist you by looking after your account, setting up standing orders and transferring money onto your card and around the world.

If you can’t get access to a computer or are stuck for time, you can control your money on the move using your mobile phone. Use your mobile phone to text balance requests at any time of day or night. Or speak to our Chinese speaking advisers who can help you over the phone.

Service you can trust

If you need any guidance on using your account on a day to day basis, simply call our Chinese speaking Account managers, who will be happy to help you open an account, manage your money, set up standing orders or transfer money. Our Account managers are UK based Chinese speakers, so they are available to deal with your queries and requests by phone or email. Their job is to look after you and your account, once it is up and running.

Opening hours are: Monday to Thursday – 9am to 8pm, Friday – 9am to 5:30 and Saturday – 10am to 1pm. Closed on Sunday.


How to apply

Opening a RED88 banking facility is simple. We will need to verify your Identity by confirming your full name, date of birth and current UK address. Don’t worry, we won’t need to carry out any credit checks. To apply you can fill out the online application or call a dedicated advisor on 0845 677 8886, once you’ve applied, your account could be open in minutes.

Following your application:

  • You'll receive a welcome pack and a wages mandate in the post.
  • You'll then need to call to activate your account.
  • Next, you’ll receive your MasterCard card, PIN and online banking password in the post.
  • You’ll then need to call to activate your account.


  • Paying in

    It’s now possible to pay into your account at the Post Office. Simply download your personal barcode and print it off. You can then take it to any branch of Post Office and pay in cash over the counter. Cash paid into the Post Office will be credited to your account within 2 working days.
